Centuries of boxing in one intro.
For the Legend of Boxing award we made the opening show: the history of boxing, told on an LED cube hanging over the ring.
The rig had three kinds of surface: the cube above the ring, tall LED “printers” on both sides that rolled out posters and newspapers, and a round LED plinth under the ring. Each carried its own layer of the story, all running to one timeline.
The intro moves through the ages: amphorae and statues of ancient Greece, carved idols of old fist fighting, a printing press that issues the first rules of boxing, then a year counter racing through the twentieth century — to Frazier and Ali at Madison Square Garden and on.
