Project Introduction

We collaborated with creative agency Auditoire to design an immersive experience for QatarEnergy’s groundbreaking ceremony of Ras Laffan Petrochemicals — a key moment to deliver powerful event storytelling.
At NAOS, we took charge of the conceptual and content development, crafting multimedia visuals that highlighted the facility’s advanced, energy-efficient technology. Using ethane as feedstock, the plant is set to achieve significantly lower greenhouse emissions compared to similar global sites — a story we brought to life through high-end visual content and immersive design.
This expansion not only highlights the growth of one of the world’s largest petrochemical complexes—both horizontally and vertically—but also marks a strategic entry into the sector, opening new horizons for the company. At NAOS, our mission was to translate that ambition into a tangible experience. Through immersive content creation and narrative-led multimedia design, we made visitors feel the scale of this transformation and understand how it will unfold.

STAGE SHOW -
A Protocol Showcase

The stage, designed by the creative team at Auditoire, featured refined visual design elevated by LED strip integration and a standout detail: a ceremonial activation device seamlessly linked to the stage content via dynamic floor mapping. At NAOS, we extended this innovative setup into the heart of the experience—the opening video. Even within a formal protocol setting, we brought in immersive storytelling and interactive content design, amplifying the ceremony with a touch of showmanship.

Idea and concepts

We produced a high-end video that captured the essence of the project through immersive visual storytelling. It showcased how the facility in Qatar manufactures a premium product line for global distribution.

Our team conducted in-depth research into the plant’s structure, product specifics, and material processes to ensure every detail was accurate. Even the ship model was precisely matched to the company’s actual fleet. From the product visuals to the credit numbers, every element was aligned with the brand’s communication standards.

WELCOME AREA -
Immersive User Journey

We began the welcome area design by strategically planning the placement of installations and key venue elements, including catering and registration zones. Our layout focused on optimizing visitor flow and accessibility, while enhancing both the aesthetic and functional experience—creating a seamless, immersive user journey from the very first step.

At the client’s request, one installation was designed to be permanently relocated to their headquarters. This requirement shaped both the concept and material selection, ensuring the piece would serve its event purpose while remaining a lasting, meaningful feature in its future space.

Concepts and visualization

In the welcome area, we set out to communicate the core message: Ras Laffan is expanding in both product scope and scale. To illustrate this, we developed a factual model highlighting the extensive production and logistics infrastructure. We also created an interactive game featuring a hologram to foster emotional engagement with the product, and used a spherical display form to present immersive brand content.

Inauguration Device -
A New Vision for Stone Laying Gesture

The modern expectation for ceremonial gestures calls for simplicity blended with technological innovation and refined aesthetics. This new approach must preserve the symbolic weight of traditional stone laying while presenting it through a more sophisticated lens. Inspired by the brand identity and the product itself, we collaborated with our technology partner, the multidisciplinary studio Leva, to design and develop a unique, technologically advanced inauguration device.

Variations in the Concept Stage. Accuracy in Production

During the concept development phase, we explored a range of forms—from abstract interpretations of the plant to more literal, brand-driven designs. The client ultimately chose a direction that directly reflected their branding, favoring clarity and symbolic alignment.
Throughout the production phase, several prototypes of the device were crafted, adjusting weight and shape to find the perfect balance. One prototype weighed up to 2 kg, highlighting the importance of having reliable production partners who meticulously address every detail to seamlessly transform the concept into reality.

Interactive Plexiglass Model of the Future Plant

A plant is more than just a production line—it involves vast territorial and procedural operations, from material processing to packaging, storage, and logistics. While these elements were presented in the main promotional video, we developed a physical plexiglass model of the future plant to clearly communicate the scale and complexity of these processes, offering visitors a tangible and comprehensive perspective.

Complexity of the Plant

After consultations with internal specialists and engineers, we defined six key zones that effectively represent the plant’s logistics and operational processes.

Simplification and Design
Aesthetics

To streamline the design and enhance the mockup’s visual impact, we translated complex engineering elements into simplified structural blocks. This process involved analyzing original CAD files, consulting on the functionality and distinctiveness of components, and unifying the overall visual language. Once the design was finalized, our partners at Leva Studio began building the physical mockup, while we created supporting content assets to bring the structure to life—adding both aesthetic depth and narrative value.

Animation Development
and Testing

During the animation development phase, we conducted over 50 content tests to find the ideal balance of visuals, lighting, and physical elements. The final outcome was a striking blend of matte and transparent glass, vivid animation, and detailed content—turning the installation into a true focal point, later integrated into the client’s headquarters.

Sphere LED Screen -
Branding that Captivates

To extend the brand presence into the physical space, we transformed key branding elements into a large-scale installation—a nearly 3-meter diameter LED sphere displaying dynamic content. This feature not only reinforced brand identity but also introduced a bold, engaging visual centerpiece to the environment.
