QatarEnergy Solar Plants — from idea to integration film

Project Introduction

For the inauguration of QatarEnergy’s two solar power plants in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed, Naos Studio with Auditoire Agency designed and produced an immersive experience for government authorities, members of the Royal Family, industry leaders, partners, and media. More than a corporate event, it transformed complex technical achievements into a tangible, emotional, and memorable journey that reinforced QatarEnergy’s vision of sustainable innovation.

Solution

Launch Film &
Digital Stage Environment

We produced large-scale content for the main stage, a 43-meter digital backdrop that served as a dynamic decoration for the cultural performance. The launch film, triggered by the symbolic activation device united all elements of the ceremony.
The sun was chosen as the central hero of the event, reflected consistently in our branding, design, and storytelling. We developed an event identity that radiated warmth through yellow-orange tones, symbolizing the endless energy of the sun. Thin lines and pulsating patterns, echoing sun rays, appeared on the walls and within the digital content creation, reinforcing the theme across every touchpoint.

A defining moment came when His Highness activated a custom-designed spherical inauguration device. As the sphere lifted, beams of light and laser lines connected to the stage, triggering the launch film. This film recapped the event narrative and concluded with the core message: harnessing the sun’s energy to make LNG production more sustainable. The symbolic act tied QatarEnergy’s strategy to both innovation and environmental responsibility, sharing a clear vision of cleaner energy with the world.

Multimedia Performance: Bridging Heritage and Innovation through Light and Motion

The performance was conceived as a poetic bridge between Qatar’s heritage and its vision of the future. Instead of a standard cultural insert, it became the emotional core of the ceremony — a living metaphor of light, transformation, and renewal under the sun.

Visitor Journey Trough Interactive Welcome Area

We began the welcome area design by strategically planning the placement of installations and key venue elements, including catering and registration zones. Our layout focused on optimizing visitor flow and accessibility, while enhancing both the aesthetic and functional experience—creating a seamless, immersive user journey from the very first step.

Immersive Tunnel (Entrance)

Crafted in Unreal Engine using real-time rendering, this 4-meter immersive passage transformed the entryway into a living solar landscape, simulating sunrise and sunset to symbolize Qatar’s transition toward sustainable energy. The dynamic lighting and motion design introduced guests to the ceremony’s multimedia storytelling journey.

Interactive Inauguration Device: A Symbolic Act of Innovation and Light

At the heart of the ceremony stood a custom-designed spherical inauguration device, symbolizing Qatar’s transition toward sustainable energy. Activated by dignitary, the sphere levitated as a rising sun and emitted beams of light that connected to the stage, triggering the launch film and immersive content. This moment merged technology, symbolism, and emotion — turning a technical activation into a powerful visual metaphor for progress powered by the sun.

Event Branding Animation

The event branding positioned the sun as the central hero, representing energy, sustainability, and progress. This visual theme was consistently applied across the venue, on walls, installations, and the stage, creating a cohesive environment that tied the event’s message together.

Naos Studio brought this branding to life through animated content for the main stage. Dynamic pulsating elements, flowing lines, and motion graphics translated the sun’s energy into visual storytelling, amplifying the immersive atmosphere and transformed static branding into a living, interactive experience.
