Project Introduction
We’ve named the design “Wandering Palace” because it consists of a vivid representation of cultures from around the world depicting world architecture familiar to your eyes.
We hope you will feel that something special is also hidden deeper. Our goal was to show that the whole world is made up of tiny particles, just like each of us. A huge burst of energy moves through the centuries and is reborn in different civilizations and cultures.

Solution
Architecture projection mapping
Through this ambitious mapping project we achieved a mesmerizing metamorphosis, transforming the base building into four of the world's most celebrated architectural masterpieces: the majestic Taj Mahal with its Indo-Islamic splendor, the gothic grandeur of the Palace of Westminster, and the organic modernism of Sagrada Familia.
Each transformation showcased our mastery in architectural visualization, bringing these iconic landmarks into a single, fluid narrative.
Architectural Metamorphosis Through 3D mapping
Naos Studio explored the intricate architectural elements - from ornate windows and classical columns to detailed stucco and dimensional ledges - across both our foundation building and imagined structures. We revolutionized the standard architectural visualization pipeline through an innovative approach to 3D mapping. Our process began with crafting high-polygon models to capture precise architectural details, then enhanced them through advanced mapping techniques to achieve unprecedented depth and dimensionality in projection mapping scenes.
Concept art for Show
In our concepts for projection mapping we crafted a mesmerizing visual journey where architectural elements flow in constant transformation.
Within our projection mapping canvas, each detail tells a story: the gothic tracery of Westminster's windows dissolves and reforms, the elegant minarets of the Taj Mahal emerge from light, and Gaudí's organic columns of the Sagrada Familia pulse with living energy.
These architectural elements remain in perpetual motion, symbolizing life's continuous renewal and the timeless nature of human creativity.
Bird Animation and anatomical sculpting with particle design
Naos Studio tackled one of 3D animation's most complex challenges: creating a photorealistic bird as a symbol of universal energy. Our approach merged architectural elements with anatomical precision, transforming building features into organic components of our avian protagonist.
We developed an innovative technique where architectural features evolved into natural forms - windows became feather patterns, while building lines transformed into the bird's silhouette. This creative translation required sophisticated 3D modeling approaches, particularly for the expansive wings that dominated our horizontal projection surface.
Our technical team crafted custom particle systems in Houdini for each feather element, creating unique generators with precise movement patterns.
These particle effects were carefully synchronized with the content's visual transformations through specialized generation masks, enhancing the organic flow of the animation.
The challenge of large-scale wing animation demanded exceptional accuracy. Through collaboration with an anatomical artist, we achieved authentic wing movement patterns based on precise biological structures. This attention to anatomical detail brought unprecedented realism to our architectural projection mapping, creating a seamless blend of natural motion and architectural transformation.
The final sequence demonstrated our mastery of layered projection techniques, where all design elements converged in a sophisticated composition of light, shadow, and depth. These subtle lighting nuances became the finishing touches that elevated the entire projection mapping experience.
Visual Depth & Dynamic Light Design
Naos Studio orchestrated an intricate interplay of light and shadow throughout our projection mapping narrative. Each scene utilized advanced lighting techniques to enhance architectural storytelling - from the dramatic shadow play across Westminster's Gothic façade to the geometric light corridors reminiscent of cinematic portals during the bird's transformation sequence.
